Hello, we’re
Bread Head

We believe that everyone who lives within a community has a voice that needs opportunities to be heard.

Our Story

Bread Head was founded by Celeste Baker when she became aware of the isolation that many experience when they move from the streets into housing. After becoming housed, formerly houseless individuals often feel disconnected, both from the community they left on the streets and from the mainstream society in which they are expected to assimilate into.  Even if housed, it’s stressful to think about finding food, money, and a sense of community.  Inspired to create an organization that supports youth in their transition, our programs focus on food literacy and alternative wellness methods as life skills that translate to all aspects of life.

Our community- driven programs work to reduce the isolation felt by youth and individuals. By creating safe nurturing environments to grow a sense of self efficacy and personal development, we aspire is to help change negative self narratives, by advocating that although housing and food insecurity may be something that people experience – it is not their identity.

Meet Jake

Jake was introduced to the outdoors and yoga early on. However, the potential for nature and yoga to work in his life was not realized until there was an honest desire for change. After years of personal struggle Jake sought the support of his community. With a new sense of strength he began to practice a healthy lifestyle, this had a profound and lasting effect on Jake’s life. He now has dedicated his life to sharing his passion for fitness, nature and yoga with others. Jake has completed a 200 hour yoga certification and teaches yoga weekly. He sees this path as limitless and he looks forward to sharing it with you.
